George Best League

Open to all U10 & U11 11 aside teams (Birth Year seasonally adjusted).

Invitations to apply through Online Applications are open from April until the end of July.

The George Best U10 Castlereagh Youth League presently commences every September with an open league for all teams who have entered. Then halfway through this league it is split into 2 sections. The top section becomes the League Section and the lower section becomes the Shield Section and teams in relevant sections play each other again once (points are carried over into each section).

The season will include 'The Mayors Cup', a cup competition for GBCYL teams. We like to conclude this competition on a prestigious pitch. Previous years finals have been held at Wilgar Park home of Dundela FC.

Every season the George Best League has a a Presentational Day at Billy Neil. Teams play against each other throughout the Day (minimum of 4 x 20 minute games) before the current Season's awards are presented. There is a small charge to cover pitches on the day.

The GBL also has representational side where a minimum of 2 players from each team will be entered into a selection process for the GBL Select team. The GB Select side will play games against invitational teams from within the GBL and where possible teams outside of the GBL.

All GBL Registered Players will receive a GBL Players Medal on Presentation Day.

Fees for Season 10-11 £140.00

A refundable on Good Behavior Bond of £50.00 is required each season from every team.

Season 2010-2011 will see the introduction of an U11s George Best League Competition based on similar details to above.

NOTE U10's or U11's Teams from the same club are required to have their own individual applications (In short 2 teams = 2 applications or 3 teams = 3 applications)
